Integrations

Reconcile the records your teams already rely on.

FogLifter® connects to 75+ enterprise data sources — cloud, billing, CMDB, infrastructure, service, and operational records — and correlates them into one governed model. It works alongside your existing stack or standalone as your primary data confidence layer.

Integration ecosystem

Source systems the platform is designed around

FogLifter has validated 75+ enterprise data sources. Here's how it connects to the systems evaluators ask about most.

ServiceNow®, Flexera®, and ITAM platforms

FogLifter completely integrates with ServiceNow® — HAM Pro, SAM Pro, Cloud Insights, ITOM, and portfolio management. Where ServiceNow® uses a rigid SQL-based architecture with fixed attributes, FogLifter's noSQL approach tracks how assets change over time. A validation token bridges the two systems, so you pass audits while reflecting the real-world elasticity that ServiceNow®'s structure can't accommodate alone.

AWS, Azure, GCP, and cloud FinOps tools

FogLifter ingests cloud billing, resource inventory, and utilization data through API collectors. It adds what cloud-native tools don't: ownership attribution, service context, and contract-level validation. Customers routinely discover 25–30% cloud utilization — the evidence needed to right-size is only actionable when it's tied to specific services, owners, and agreements.

Billing, invoicing, and contract systems

FogLifter reconciles invoice line items against contract terms and actual consumption from systems of record. Discrepancies are surfaced at ingestion, not discovered at month-end. Invoice validation cycles compress from days to hours, and the Validation View gives both parties a shared workspace to comment, flag, and resolve differences in the same billing period.

Discovery, monitoring, and operations tooling

FogLifter ingests from network scanners, endpoint agents, VMware, SolarWinds, and cloud inventory APIs — then correlates what's discovered against what's recorded in CMDB and ITAM. The result surfaces gaps that discovery alone can't reconcile: assets in one system but not another, ephemeral resources, and naming inconsistencies across vendors and regions.

Extract, load, then transform — with context.

Most integration tools move data from one place to another. FogLifter goes further — it normalizes naming conventions across systems, reconciles overlapping keys, and flags conflicts before records enter the correlated model.

FogLifter doesn't require an existing TBM, CMDB, or FinOps tool to deliver value. The ontology — built over eight years on enterprise IT systems — provides the classification, naming taxonomy, and relationship logic that would otherwise require those platforms. Customers who don't yet have Apptio® or a mature ServiceNow® deployment use FogLifter as their primary data confidence layer from day one.

Dan Jost

"We don't just aggregate the data. We bring it in, normalise it, and then apply context — what is this asset, who owns it, what does it cost, and how does it relate to everything else in the estate?"

Dan Jost, Chief Architect FogLifter

What happens between ingestion and insight.

Connecting to a system is the first step. Making the data usable is everything that follows.

Naming and key reconciliation

The same server can appear as three different records across CMDB, billing, and discovery. Hitachi® labels a storage line one way, Dell™ EMC labels it another. As one customer put it, "We're the Noah's Ark of IT — we have at least two of everything." FogLifter resolves these into one correlated entity — so downstream counts, costs, and ownership references are consistent without manual mapping.

Continuous refresh, not one-time loads

Integrations run on governed schedules — not one-off imports. Each cycle validates what changed, flags new conflicts, and updates the correlated model. Customers in production have connected 40+ IT reporting systems in a single environment, spanning 81 countries and 52 currencies, with continuous ingestion cycles keeping every record current.

Conflict surfacing before downstream consumption

When source records disagree, FogLifter flags the mismatch at ingestion rather than letting it propagate silently into dashboards. One healthcare customer with 52,000 production servers was routinely disputing 3,000 to 5,000 of them — 7% to 10% of the total environment — every billing cycle. Surfacing conflicts at ingestion turned monthly arguments into same-cycle resolutions.

Standalone or alongside — FogLifter adapts to your stack

Whether you've invested in a full ITSM and TBM toolchain or you're starting from spreadsheets, FogLifter meets you where you are.

With an existing toolchain

FogLifter validates and enriches data flowing into ServiceNow®, Apptio®, Cloudability®, and downstream analytics platforms. It doesn't replace what you've built — it makes those investments more trustworthy. Asset counts become defensible. Cost allocations become evidence-based. SLA measurements become grounded in chained KPIs rather than isolated infrastructure metrics. Data flows bidirectionally, so validated records reach every system that needs them.

Without one

FogLifter operates as your primary data confidence layer. The ontology encodes tower structures, naming taxonomies, asset relationships, and classification rules built over eight years on enterprise IT systems. You don't need to buy Apptio® first to get defensible cost attribution, or have a mature CMDB to get validated asset counts. Start with the data sources you have — spreadsheets, CSVs, email exports — and the ontology provides the context that raw ingestion tools don't.
